(Allendale, Mich.) Cornerstone women ran seven personal bests in middle distance and distance events at the Mike Lints Open hosted by Grand Valley State University.
CallyAnne Wyma set the tone in the afternoon's opening event. Her 19:01.39 in the 5,000 meters took seven seconds off her best from last season and placed tenth.
In the mile, Jill Louisignau paced a pack of three Golden Eagles to front of the race after the first to laps and held that spot until teammate, Julie Oosterhouse swept past in the final 100 meters. Oosterhouse won the heat in a PR 5:14.85 with Louisignau third in a new best of 5:16.36. Julia Contreras ran 5:21.98 and Audrey Tremaine improved to 5:31.25.
Freshmen Lindy Sayers took 13th in the 400 meters with a PR 1:01.64 and Kaitlyn Bronkema improved her 600 meter time to 1:42.54 placing ninth.
In other action, Anita Souza finished fourth in the 60 meter hurdles final. Her time of 9.29 bettered the NAIA provisional qualifying standard. Lindsay Lipa took third in the long jump with a mark of 17' 6".
Bronkema, Oosterhouse, Sayers and Larissa Hampton combined to take sixth in the 4 x 400 meter relay, clocking 4:06.70.
