GAME FLOW
Cornerstone welcomed nationally ranked, Davenport University, to Mol Arena for a Saturday afternoon contest. The game was highlighted by Davenport's 19 steals while Ashley Niedermayer grabbed the game-high and career-high 14 rebounds during the day. While going head-to-head with Davenport in shooting percentage and total rebounds, the Golden Eagles were unable to bounce back after 29 turnovers following a 42-77 loss.
After an early two point lead off a Ashley Niedermayer layup, Davenport took the lead and controlled majority of play heading into the locker room with a 40-22 advantage over Cornerstone. The half came to a close after a two point made by Davenport's Tiesha Stokes. During the second half of play, Davenport led by as many as 37 points with four minutes remaining in the game. Controlling the remainder of the contest, Davenport rolled to a 77-42 win.
After the loss, Cornerstone drops to 14-9 overall and 8-7 during conference play as they prepare for Monday night's conference game at Lawrence Tech. The Panthers improve their overall record to 22-1 and their conference record to 14-1.
