(Tucson, Ariz.) The Golden Eagles gave up 2 runs in the top of the first inning today but they responded with five runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Cornerstone used six singles and a double along with an error and a walk to score the runs in the inning. Haley Castillo had 2 RBI's with a single up the middle to finish off the scoring. The Panthers score two more runs in the top of the second inning to make it 5-4. The Golden Eagles exploded with six more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to open up a commanding 11-4 lead. Lauren Pasciak and Jenna Weightman had back to back singles and scored on a Heidi Warmelink triple. Kaitlyn Carlson knocked in Warmelink with a single to left field. Madison Bucilla followed Carlson with a single and both scored on a Megan Oberst double to center field. Kathy DeYoung finished off the scoring with an RBI double to left center field. PUNC picked up two more runs in the top of the fifth inning but that would be all they would get as the Golden Eagles went on to get their first win of the season with an 11-6 victory over Purdue North Central. Heidi Warmelink led the Golden Eagles going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's and 2 runs scored and picking up her first win from the circle.

Cornerstone fell behind early in game two against Northwestern (IA) giving up two runs in the first, three runs in the second and third, and two more in the fourth before getting on the board themselves in the bottom of the fourth inning with two runs. Lauren Pasciak and Lisa Peppel both singled and were brought home with a Kaycee Kuiper single to make it 10-2. Northwestern added a run in the top of the fifth and the Golden Eagles scored one in the bottom of the fifth. Heidi Warmelink doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly from Madison Bucilla. The game ended with an 11-3 victory for Northwestern.

Cornerstone will have rematches against Olivet Nazarene (IL) and Robert Morris (IL) tomorrow.
