scoring 4 runs on 3 hits and 2 errors and regained the lead 8-5.
Jenna Weightman started the 4th inning with a home run over the left field fence on a 2-0 count. Oberst had an RBI on a single to left and Niedermayer followed with 2 RBI's on a single to left field. CU took a 9-8 lead after 3 ½ innings. The Wildcats added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 4th to go ahead 10-9. CU was held scoreless in the 5th while IWU added 2 more runs to push the Wildcat lead to 12-9. The Golden Eagles had 2 hits in the 6th but couldn't get on the board; leaving two on base. IWU was held scoreless in the 6th. Tahni Bruno singled up the middle and Megan Oberst hit a 2 run home run over center field in the 7th to cut the IWU lead to 1 but that was as close as CU would get and the Wildcats took game 1 (12-11). Heidi Warmelink struck out 5 batters in 6 innings in the loss. IWU's Abbie Forman improved to 16-1 on the season. Game 2
Heidi Warmelink opened game Game 2 with a home run over center field on a 0-0 count to give CU a 1-0 lead. Indiana Wesleyan's Sam Hemming hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 1st to give IWU 3-1 lead. The Golden Eagles exploded in the 2nd with 6 runs on 4 hits that started with Madison Bucilla singling to right. IWU scored two more runs in the bottom of the 3rd to cut the CU lead to 7-5. Pasciak doubled to deep left for an RBI in the top of the 5th and Heidi Warmelink hit her second home run of the game in the top of the 6th to push CU's lead to 9-5. The Wildcats responded in the bottom of the 6th, scoring 2 runs. CU was held scoreless in the 7th. Sam Hemming hit her second home run of the game for IWU to start the inning but CU's defense knocked out the next 3 batters to give CU the 9-8 win. Rachel Doornbos recorded her first win of the season (1-0) and Warmelink got the save to help CU improve to 4-14 overall. The Golden Eagles will play another double header vs. the Wildcats on Saturday, March 31.
