Cornerstone University and head baseball coach David Mitroff are pleased to announce the signing of Taylor Cooper, a left-handed pitcher from Defiance High School in Defiance, Ohio. Taylor sits in the mid-eighties with his fastball and can get it up to 87. He was 3-1 on the mound last season with over 30 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched. Taylor also hit .440 while scoring 20 runs and driving in 20 runs. He has the potential to be a front-line starter very early in his collegiate career and will compete immediately with the rest of the newcomers.

When asked about his decision to attend Cornerstone, Taylor said, "I am excited to be a part of building the foundation of a first year baseball program while growing in my relationship with Christ. I felt very welcomed on the campus at Cornerstone and believe it is a great place to meet new people and build relationships that last. I will work extremely hard to earn a spot and do whatever it takes to reach my potential."
