The Golden Eagles traveled over to Aquinas this afternoon for a non-conference match against the Saints. Aquinas dictated play and outshot the Golden Eagles 8-2 in the first half of play. The Saints continued to maintain most of the possession in the 2nd half and outshot Cornerstone 12-4 throughout the second half. Cornerstone made it a little closer in the first overtime getting off two shots to three for Aquinas. The Saints outshot the Golden Eagles 4-0 in the second OT period and Heath Somers hit the game winner on a free kick with just 2:36 left in the game. The Saints outshot the Golden Eagles 27-8 in the game. Kyle Breckan
made 10 saves including a couple of spectacular stops in the game. Cornerstone drops to 0-1-1 on the season and will return to action this weekend when they take on Indiana Wesleyan and Taylor on Friday and Saturday.
