Today, Cornerstone athletics continues its volleyball feature; "Spiking it with …" Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the season, fans will have an opportunity to get to know the Golden Eagles a bit better through a question-and-answer session.  Today, the series continues with junior outside hitter, Abby Miedema.

Miedema, a native from Hudsonville, has played in 18 of the 19 matches with 67 sets played in the 2012 season for head coach Ryan Campbell.  Miedema tallied a season-high 12 kills against Lawrence Tech on September 22.  The junior is also ranked 30th nationally in Digs per Game (5.030).

The best part about being on the Golden Eagle's Volleyball team?  Having 15 sisters that make up the best teammates in the world.

My earliest volleyball memory is … Constantly bugging my siblings to play with me at my cottage.

Other than volleyball, my favorite sport to play is … Racquetball with my friend Nev. 

When I have an hour of free time, I like to … Spend time with my nephew, friends, and family. I'm a very family oriented person, so with my extra time I want to spend it with the people who I love.

If I won a million dollars, I would … I would first donate to charities, then I would go down to Africa and spend some time at orphanages, and lastly I would buy a house and invest the rest.

If someone would look at the songs on my iPod, I would be embarrassed for them to see I have … I would not be embarrassed because I like all kinds of music.

It is not good for you, but I still eat … Ice Cream.

A place I would like to visit one day is … Hawaii because I love warm tropical places.

If you could eat dinner with three other people (living or dead) who would they be?  My Grandpa Lanning, my Great Grandpa Miedema, and Jesus. 

When surfing the Internet, what website do you visit the most frequently?  Facebook.

What is something about you that other people don't know?  I am a germaphobe.

Who is your favorite Superhero and why?  Batman because he is a great hero and I love the movies.

What cartoon character are you most like?  My teammates call me Cinderella sometimes, so I assume I am like her. 

After graduation, I would like to … I would love to run my own volleyball club or start my own ice cream/cupcake business with my sister.
