KEY TEAM STATS

Cornerstone welcomed conference opponent University of Michigan Dearborn into Mol Arena on Saturday afternoon.  Junior Alex Lyle recorded the game-high 19 points while also recording his career-high at Cornerstone.  Four other Golden Eagles scored in double digits during the afternoon.  Shane Moreland also broke a career record during the afternoon with six steals.  As a team, the Golden Eagles recorded 16 takeaways while only turning the ball over five times.  UM-Dearborn controlled the glass by out-rebounding Cornerstone, 34-32.  The Golden Eagles held the Wolves to a 37.8% shooting percentage during the afternoon. 

GAME FLOW

With their only lead in the contest, the Wolves were able to get on the scoreboard first after a early foul by Ty Mason to put UM-Dearborn ahead, 2-0.  Alex Lyle came out shooting during the beginning of the contest helping Cornerstone go on a 26-6 run with eight minutes remaining till halftime.  Lyle converted five-for-five in a period of four minutes.  The Golden Eagles rode the momentum and took a 49-19 advantage into halftime after Ty Mason converted on a three point shot behind the arc with 11 seconds remaining.   In the second half, the Golden Eagles continued their strong offensive play with their biggest lead of 46 points coming with seven minutes remaining and took the contest, 94-54.

After the win, Cornerstone improves to 16-10 overall and 10-8 during conference play as they prepare to travel to Aquinas College on Wednesday night.  Michigan-Dearborn falls to 5-13 during league play.
