The Cornerstone University baseball team opened its season today in Memphis, Tenn. against Victory University. In the first game of a doubleheader, the Victory Eagles outhit Cornerstone on the way to a 6-1 victory. Victory's six runs came on nine hits while Cornerstone had five hits in the game.

Victory broke the game open with a four run 4^th inning where the big blow came on a two-run triple off of starter, Jon Knapp. Knapp went 3.1 innings in which he gave up five earned runs on seven hits with one walk and two strikeouts.

Brandon Willard pitched 2.2 innings in relief and gave up one earned run on two hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

Zach Bohl drove in Zach Harbison with the lone run for the Golden Eagles with a single in the 7^th inning. Zach Meyer and Nick Covello each added a double in the losing effort.

The Golden Eagles are 0-1 on the season.
