(Holland Mich.) The Golden Eagles finished the weekend with one win and one loss. CU played Mount Union College at the DeVos Fieldhouse and lost 3-0 (26-24, 25-23, 25-20). All three games were closely contested but could not get over the hump. Another poor hitting percentage match of .138 did not help either. Alicia TerHaar led the team with 9 kills and 3 blocks. Erin Greenwood dished out 10 assists and Jodi Grandholm added 2 aces.

CU finished the day with a 3-1 win over Thiel College. CU had 12 team blocks and hit .214 for the match. The Golden Eagles won the first two games 25-22, 25-22 before dropping the third 23-25. They came back and had 13 kills on 50 total attacks to win 25-17. Kate Zwier led the team with 12 kills and TerHaar added 10. Erin Greenwood tossed in 19 assists while Tamara Bethke tallied 12. TerHaar also finished with a team high 11 digs and 4 solo blocks.

Cornerstone will play in the Georgetown College Ky. Tournament Sept. 10-11.
