The Golden Eagles kicked off on a wet Saturday afternoon and played in the rain for the whole game as they went on to defeat Concordia 2-1. Cornerstone dominated play out-shooting the Cardinals 20-0 in the first half but Concordia put a lot of players in the box and they kept the Golden Eagles from scoring any goals. Cornerstone came out in the second half and continue to press towards the goal and was finally rewarded in the 54th minute when Jen Kuipers
scored on an Ashleigh Lund
assist. The Golden Eagles made it 2-0 in the 70th minute when Riley Steen
headed in a rebound off of the crossbar. The Cardinals pulled one back in the 82nd minute off of a free kick and the game ended with a 2-1 victory for the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone outshot Concordia 47-5 on the game. Cornerstone will return to action on Tuesday when they host Spring Arbor University at 4:00 p.m.
