Men's Soccer - Sat, Sep. 25, 2010

The Golden Eagles posted a 3-0 shutout and much needed win over the Concordia Cardinals . Jesse Pipe headed in the first goal of the game at the 25 minute mark on a free kick by Matt OsorioNic Tolsma scored his 7th goal of the season at the 43:23 mark and was assisted by Jacob Stanko. Cornerstone had 7 shots in the first half to the Cardinals 4. Jacob Stanko pushed the score to 3-0 at the 76th minute on a Nic Tolsma assist. Kyle Breckan had two saves on the shut-out and CU posted 15 shots for the game to Concordia's 4. 

The soccer teams partnered with World Vision to raise money to purchase bed nets to send to Sub-Saharan Africa to help prevent the spread of malaria. All funds from the men's and women's games will purchase a bed net at the cost of $6 to help save lives. 

The Golden Eagles improve to 3-5-1 overall and Concordia falls to 3-4-1 overall. CU will host Holy Cross on Oct. 2 at 2:30 p.m. during homecoming week.
