
A minute and a half later Richard Moylan scored off an assist by Kwabe Boateng (28:24) to push the CU lead to 2-0. Before the first half ended the Pat Gates scored for the Cardinals with just two and a half minutes remaining to take a just trail by one going into half-time.
Just 52 seconds into the second half Matt Roberts saved a Concordia header shot to preserve the 2-1 Cornerstone lead. Brian Nimmo gave CU some breathing room when he scored in the 53rd minute on a Jacob Stanko assist. Cornerstone had 12 shots on goal while the Cardinals had 8 in the 3-1 victory. CU improved to 6-6-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the WHAC. Concordia falls to 3-11-1 overall and 0-5 in the WHAC. CU will host league leader Davenport on Oct. 27th at 3:30 p.m.
