The Golden Eagles traveled over to Grace Bible to play a tough Tiger team and had to rally in the 2nd half to pull out a 71-68 win. Cornerstone was down 44-28 at the end of the first half but the Golden Eagles would rally in the 2nd half to defeat the Tigers. The Golden Eagles were down 13 but drained 3 consecutive 3's to bring Cornerstone within 4 points. Cornerstone did eventually tie the game and had the ball with 37 seconds remaining in the game. nailed a 3-pointer with just 2 seconds left on the shot clock. Grace Bible's Allen Durham had a look at a 3-pointer to tie the game but it hit iron and bounced out. Cornerstone improves to 1-0 on the season. Ronnie Bates led the team with a game high 23 points. The Golden Eagles will return to action this weekend when they face Spring Arbor and Indiana Wesleyan in the WHAC/MCC Shootout hosted by Aquinas. Tip-off is set for 6:00 on Friday night against Spring Arbor. The Golden Eagles will face Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
