Cornerstone (Mich.) moved up one spot to No. 2 in the first poll of the New Year.  The Golden Eagles boast their highest ranking since the 2004-05 season and have been in the top-five in all five polls this year (including preseason).  Cornerstone tallied 409 total points this week. With a 16-2 record, the Golden Eagles have won nine of their last 10 games.

Cornerstone is 5-1 since the last poll which was on Dec. 16th.  The one loss was to NCAA Division I opponent Central Michigan by just 3 points (63-60).  In the past week the Golden Eagles won a thriller on the road over #15 Indiana Tech (76-75) and followed that up with a 121-65 romp over UM-Dearborn on Saturday Jan. 8th.  Cornerstone takes on Siena Heights (Mich.) on Wednesday before a battle with Concordia (Mich.) on Saturday.  Click here to view the entire poll
