It was a very closely contested first half that included 12 ties through the first 24 points of the game. Cornerstone had gained the lead 5 times while UNO gained the lead 4 times. Cornerstone did take the lead (28-27) for good with 3:48 left in the half on a Ted Albert basket. The Golden Eagles finished the half up 36-32. The Golden Eagles pushed the lead to double digits with 15:53 left on the clock and the Racers would not get the lead down under 10 for the remainder of the game. The Golden Eagles largest lead (59-40) came with 10:49 on the clock. The highlight of the half came at 8:36 when Kelvin DeVries drained a 3-pointer which gives him the school record for 3-pointers made in a career. Cornerstone went on to defeat UNO 81-65 to improve to 8-1 in the WHAC. DeVries now has 267 3-pointers in his career and he broke the record of 266 held by Scott O'Day (1986-89).
