Men's Indoor Track & Field - Thu, Mar. 3, 2011

(Geneva, Ohio)  On the first day of competition at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships, Cornerstone's men competed in two relays and the 5,000 meters.

Senior Alex Green put a tremendous effort into his semi-final heat of the 5,000 meters. After running through the opening mile in 4:54 the large tightly grouped pack. Two laps later the field strung out to a single file line. Green put out a determined effort to move toward the front. A final push over the last lap brought him to the finish in 14:04.43, just missing the final qualifying spot by five seconds.

In the relays, Adam Duerksen, Ryan Versen, Spencer Perry and Zach Yeo ran 3:19.06 taking 17th while Zach Bourdon, Erich Schroeder, John Klumpp and Peter Kaijala combined for 10:38.88 in the distance medley relay for 18th.
