GAME FLOW

The Golden Eagles took an early lead and maintained that lead except for one possession in the first half of play. Cornerstone's largest lead of the half was 8 points and the Golden Eagles achieved that three times (14-6, 21-13, and 24-16) in the half. The Wildcats tied the score at 25-25 with 2:37 and took their only lead of the half (27-25) with 1:38 left on the clock. The Golden Eagles responded by scoring the last 5 points of the half to take a 30-27 lead into the locker room. Cornerstone kept that lead until 12:21 when Wesleyan hit a 2 point shot with 12:21 to take their first lead (42-40) of the 2^nd half. The game featured 2 more ties and 3 lead changes in the last 12 minutes of play. Wesleyan tied the score at 50-50 with 3:04 left in the game on 2 foul shots by Ashley Brooks. The Wildcats would take the lead 52-50 with 2:19 to play and the Golden Eagles would not be able to reclaim the lead. Melissa Veltkamp made a 3 pointer with .02 left on the clock but the Wildcats would be able to get the ball in and the clock expired with the Golden Eagles on the wrong side of a 57-55 game.
