Men's Outdoor Track & Field - Sat, Apr. 9, 2011
(Adrian, Mich.) Mild temperatures and calm winds made for nearly ideal conditions at the Adrian College All American Invitational. Cornerstone's sprinters took the opportunity to demonstrate good early season fitness.
In the 400 meter hurdles the Golden Eagles swept four of the top five spots led by team captain, John Klumpp whose 54.87 personal best won the race. Adam Duerksen took third in 55.93 followed by freshman Ryan Verson's 56.40 PR for fourth. Jim VanOss was fifth in 58.42
Freshman, Joe Hocket placed third in the 110 meter hurdles in a personal best time of 15.98 ahead of Klumpp (8th / 16.62), Versen (10th / 16.74) and VanOss (11th / 16.86).
Zach Yeo improved his season best in the 400 meters to 49.35, which was good for second place. He also took fourth in the 200 meters running 22.74.
Duerksen, Versen and Yeo were joined by Eric Schroeder for the 4 x 400 meter relay. Yeo's 48.7 anchor leg sealed the win in 3:20.39 ahead of host Adrian in 3:21.87 and conference rivals Siena Heights' 3:22.47.
