(Maywood, Ill.) Kris Shear will have some company at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championship race walk next month. Teammate Cody Risch claimed a qualifying mark at the USAT&F Illinois Race Walk Championships.

Competing in the Open division, the sophomore from Mason, MI placed third in 25:42.00, seventeen seconds under the NAIA automatic standard. His debut time in the 5,000 meter race walk puts him second on the CU All-Time list, ahead of 2006 All-American Nathan Comden.
