The Golden Eagles took a trip to Amherst N.Y.to take on the Wildcats of Daemen College. Along the way they made a stop at Cedar Point to take in a few thrill rides, scrimmaged Malone University and will visit Niagra Falls on the trip home.

Cornerstone defeated Daemen in 3 games (25-12, 25-20, 25-23) to open the 2011 season 1-0 and the Wildcats fall to 3-2 on the young season.  Libby Webber (Grand Rapids, Mich.) led the team with 3 blocks, Kim Weaver (Rockford, Mich./GRCC) finished the day with 13 kills, Larissa Deshetsky (North Branch, Mich.) led the team with 18 digs and setter Kim Weaver dished out 21 assists. Cornerstone will travel to UM-Dearborn next weekend Aug. 26-27 to play in the Early Bird Tournament. The team will play Lawrence Tech, Mount Vernon Nazarene, Trinity Christian and Grace College.
