The Golden Eagles went 1-1 on Friday and followed that up with a five set win over St. Ambrose and then a five set loss to St. Francis Ill. CU rallied after dropping the first two games to St. Ambrose 26-24, 25-21. The Golden Eagles forced the fifth game winning 25-19, 25-19 and finished the match with a 15-8 win to improve to 22-2.
The Golden Eagles finished the tournament with a 3-2 loss to the hosts, St. Francis. CU won the first two games 25-17, 25-22 but dropped the next two 25-23, 25-22. St. Francis won the decider 16-14. Ali Prus led the team with 22 digs, Jodi Grandholm was the kill leader with 19, Kim Weaver had 46 assists and Kate Zwier finished with 2 blocks. CU is now 22-3 on the season.
The Golden Eagles will host University of Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7pm.
