
Dave Mitroff, joins the Cornerstone athletic program staff, with more than 800 games of experience coaching. Before completing his degree at Bethel University in 1983 in business administration he played baseball while attending Bethel from 1979-82.
He has served as assistant varsity coach at Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, Ill., for the past two years. In 2008-2009 he was head coach of Illinois Select Baseball. From 2001-2007 he held the position of head baseball coach of the McHenry County Hurricanes.
Mitroff has been a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association for 13 years and served as head coach at Arlington Cardinals Summer collegiate/Semi-pro team for seven years. The team won the national championship in 1989.
He has coached multiple teams to youth championships and nationally ranked tournament teams, served as vice president of operations for McHenry County Hurricanes from 2000-2006 and created a community fundraising program called P.I.T.C.H. (Players Investing Toward Community Help).
In addition, he created and developed the Leadership Summit for Illinois Baseball from 2000-2005, coached Illinois Select Baseball from 2006 to 2010, created a national showcase event in Minneapolis, Minn., (Metrodome 2006-2010) featuring the best high school prospects from Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Some of his proudest moments include serving as head coach of the 1994 National Champion Chi-town Cardinals and back to back Fox Valley Conference Champions in 2009 and 2010.
