The Golden Eagles finished the regular season on a high note defeating cross-town rival Davenport 3-1. CU took a 10-6 lead on a kill by setter Kim Weaver
and kept the pressure on throughout to win the first game 25-15. The tables were turned and it was the Panthers who took control early in the second game leading 8-2 before CU began to chip away at the lead. They were able to cut it to 16-14 but Davenport went on a 5-0 run to increase the lead to 21-14. Cornerstone managed one more run of their own and cut the lead to 23-21 on a kill by senior Jodi Grandholm
but back to back DU kills would finish the game and tie it at one apiece 25-21.
Davenport would jump out to an early 3-0 lead in the 3rd game but tough serving by Kim Weaver
gave CU a 5-3 lead. Later 3 DU errors pushed CU's lead to 13-9 and forced a Panther timeout. That was the cusion CU needed and they finished the 3rd game on a 7-0 run to win 25-16. Davenport would once again start out strong in the 4th taking an early 4-0 lead. Kate Zwier
was the spark in thee 4th with back to back kills to take their first lead of the game 11-10. With the score tied at 22-22 CU capitalized on two attack errors and Jodi Grandholm
finished with one of her team high 16 kills to lead Cornerstone to a 25-22 win.
Cornerstone finishes the WHAC regular season 8-1 and earned the #2 seed going into the WHAC tournament scheduled for this weekend at Aquinas College. Kate Zwier

finished with 10 kills while Kim Weaver
had 40 assists and 21 digs. Ali Prus
