Ronald Bates averaged 20 points and 6.5 rebounds for Cornerstone to be named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

A senior from Grand Rapids, Mich., Bates had an all-around game during an 81-69 win against the University of Windsor at the Northwood Holiday Classic in Florida. He scored 17 and had six boards, a game-high seven assists, and one steal. The guard followed with game-highs of 23 points and seven rebounds the next night in an 85-92 double-overtime loss to Spring Arbor (Mich.). During the tournament, Bates averaged five points and one rebound more per game than his season averages.

Cornerstone (9-7) returns to action on Jan. 4 as they host Indiana Tech for a WHAC match up at 7:30pm.
