ADA, Mich. - The Cornerstone Men's Golf team finished their fall season on Tuesday afternoon at the Egypt Valley Intercollegiate, hosted by Taylor University. CU placed 13th in the 36-hole event as they were led in scoring by junior
Zach Paavola who finished 11th overall in the 70 player field. CU will now be off from competition until the spring season.
Zach Paavola kept up his strong play towards the end of the fall campaign as the junior posted a 74 in the opening round and followed it with an 81 in blustery and cool conditions on the 6,878 yard course at Egypt Valley here in town. He was followed in scoring by
Josh Maas (88-87),
Will Clarke (92-87) and
Ty Mero (93-87).
Cornerstone finished 13th out of the 13 teams competing at the host school, Taylor University, won with a 2-day total of 598. The Trojans were followed by Mount Vernon Nazarene (613), Huntington (624) and Madonna (630). CU was at 689 for the 36 holes of competition.
The Golden Eagles will now be off from competition until the spring season in March.
