Zach Paavola fired a 3-over par round of 75 while freshman
Ty Mero finished with a 79 as the duo led the men's golf team to a seventh place finish at WHAC Jamboree No. 4 on Monday morning. Cornerstone posted a 326 team score, just one shot behind sixth place Siena Heights, as Northwestern Ohio continued to control the conference with a 289 team score. The 10 league schools will tee it up in the final jamboree on Tuesday at UNOH.
Zach Paavola has seen his scores steadily fall over the course of the fall season and the junior fired a 2017-best of 75 on Monday at the Par-72 6,745 yard Sylvania CC.
Ty Mero was just four shots off his pace and they were followed by
Joshua Riffe (83) and
Josh Maas (89) and
Will Clarke (89).
Northwestern Ohio won their fourth straight league jamboree this season with a 1-over par team total of 289 while Lawrence Tech was two shots back while Indiana Tech, Madonna and Lourdes rounded out the top five.
The 10 teams will finish the fall WHAC slate on Tuesday at Northwestern Ohio.
