Tucker Fahlen named Men’s Golf Coach

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Director of Athletics Chip Huber is pleased to announce the hiring of Tucker Fahlen as the new head coach for the Men's Golf program. Fahlen, a Grand Rapids native, is a graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Ind. and takes over a team that returns seven players from the 2017-18 campaign.

"We are very excited to have Tucker step into the role of our men's golf coach at Cornerstone," said Aaron Sagraves, Assistant Director of Athletics. "His background in the NAIA as a former student athlete at Taylor University will allow him to flourish in this small campus role and lead our young men at Cornerstone. He will help them thrive as student athletes who will build meaningful relationships and grow as followers of Christ in the years to come!"

Fahlen comes to Cornerstone after a standout career at Taylor University where he helped the Trojans become one of the top NAIA programs in the country under head coach Cam Andry. The former NorthPointe Christian HS standout helped at his alma mater this past spring under his father who was the head coach of the eventual state champion Mustangs.

"I'm excited to contribute to a university like Cornerstone because I grew up attending Christ-focused schools and played golf at NorthPointe Christian and Taylor University, which deeply impacted my faith journey. It's a tremendous opportunity to be coaching Men's Golf at CU and it means a lot to me to be coaching a sport that I love at a University that aligns with my faith and values."

The Golden Eagles return their top two scoring players from a year ago in senior Zach Paavola and sophomore Ty Mero and have a schedule that gets started at the annual Lou Collins Invitational, hosted by Olivet College, on September 7-8 in Battle Creek.

"I'm excited to bring my passion and energy along with my experience and love of golf to the Men's golf program at Cornerstone University. We have a solid group of men and I want to help each of them bring their game to the next level to compete at a high level of competition. Furthermore I want to help strengthen these men as leaders on and off the golf course. Our team will represent the mission of Cornerstone University through our words and actions, always seeking to empower each other and others to as influencers for Christ."

???????Fahlen currently resides in Rockford, MI with his wife Kara and is a Financial Advisor at VantagePointe Financial.
