High School - Amanda played varsity soccer at Caledonia for four years. She was named 3rd Team All-State in 2010, 2nd Team (Division II) All-State in 2009 and 3rd Team All-State in 2008. She was voted All-Conference, All-District, and All-Region in 2008 and 2009. She was voted Most Valuable Offensive Player for Caledonia High School in 2008, 2009, and 2010. She finished her career at Caledonia with the most assists, points, and was 2nd in goals scored in the history of the program. Amanda has also participated in Volleyball, Cross-Country, and Track & Field at Caledonia.
She is involved in a lot of extra-curricular activities including: Student Council, Ada Bible Youth Group, Discovery Village Volunteer. She was in Peter Pan (school musical) this past winter.
Personal: Amanda is the daughter of Dave & Leilani Van Laar of Alto, Mich.
