Coach Ryan Campbell enters his second season as head coach and fifth season coaching at Cornerstone. Last season, Campbell's team finished with a record of 24-17 (14th consecutive winning season). Campbell was also named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) "Champions of Character" coach and organized the Cornerstone volleyball attendance record. Also in 2009, Campbell received the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) "Thirty Under 30 Award," a national honor given to thirty up-and-coming volleyball coaches.
In the off season, Campbell coaches club volleyball in Grand Rapids. He also has been hired as a camp coach for Ohio State University, the University of Hawaii, Penn State University, the University of Michigan, Purdue University, the University of Notre Dame, and Bowling Green State University.
In addition, Campbell spent time coaching the junior varsity volleyball team at Forest Hills Central High School. In Campbell's last two seasons, his teams recorded a combined record of 74-7.
Campbell is a Cornerstone alumnus. He majored in physical education with a minor in both health education and coaching. Campbell is originally from Illinois where he played high school and club volleyball. He now resides in East Grand Rapids, Mich.
