Cathi played on the Women’s Basketball team and the track & field team from 2002-2006.  Cathi was a three time All-American in basketball which included a First Team selection in 2003-04.  She finished her career as the leading scorer in the history of the program.  Velzen also competed in Track & Field and was WHAC Athlete of the Year in 2002, 2003, and 2004.   She was a six time All-American in Track & Field in 400m Hurdles, 4 x 100 Relay, 4 x 400 Relay, Heptathlon, and Pentathlon.
