Box Score

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –The visiting Crusaders made the most of very limited opportunities on Saturday afternoon as they came away with the only goal of the match to defeat the Golden Eagles 1-0. The loss drops head coach Randy Strawser and his team to 9-3-3 on the season and 4-3-1 in league play. CU will return to action on Tuesday when they host Saint Xavier (Ill.).

After a scoreless opening half that saw each team post two shots on goal, the Crusaders came away with the lone goal of the match in the 59' to post the shutout win over the Golden Eagles.

Madonna's Katyln Krysiak took a long pass through the CU defense and beat one defender and then the goalie to post the go ahead goal. CU did manage to put some pressure on the Crusaders throughout the remainder of the match but was unable to get one by Blaire Schmalenberg as the visiting keeper finished with three saves.

CU keeper Allison Snowden (SO/Kalamazoo, Mich.) also finished with three saves in net for the Golden Eagles as they will be in action on Tuesday in a makeup non-conference match against Saint Xavier (Ill.) at 4 p.m.
