Hostetler posts 16 points and six assists in 66-40 win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Junior guard Tanner Hostetler (JR/Archbold, Ohio) helped the No. 24 Golden Eagles get back on the winning track as she posted game highs of 16 points and six assists to lead CU to a 66-40 win over Lourdes. Cornerstone is now 3-2 overall while they are 1-1 in league play. The Golden Eagles hit the road for their next three games beginning Saturday at Northwestern Ohio.



Game Flow
After an early 2-2 tie, Cornerstone got the lead and never relinquished it after a pair of free-throws from junior Jill Hendrickson (JR/Ada, Mich.). The lead grew to as many as nine with just under 10 minutes to play but the Gray Wolves scored five straight out of the timeout to cut the margin in half. CU came back with a 17-3 run to end the half leading 35-17.

The lead continued to grow in the second half and after a layup from Ellery Mast (FR/Zeeland, Mich.) with 10:32 to play, the Golden Eagles led 51-21. The largest margin for CU was 31 on a 3-pointer from Emma Lockhart (SO/Reed City, Mich.) and the home team cruised to the 26 point win.
