ADRIAN, Mich. – After upsetting No. 3 seed Aquinas in the first round of the WHAC Tournament, the hopes of making the title match were diminished today by No. 2 and nationally ranked No. 18 Siena Heights. The women's soccer team could not overcome a fast start by the Saints as they fell 3-0. The loss ends the 2014 campaign for the Golden Eagles with a 10-5-4 overall record.

The Golden Eagles traveled down to Adrian to take on No.18 Siena Heights in a WHAC Semi-Final tonight and the Saints got the best of the Golden Eagles.  Siena Heights started much like they did a week ago at Cornerstone as Samantha Bartelotti hit a great shot to the far post in the 8th minute of play to put the Saints up 1-0.

Lightning struck again two minutes later with another very good shot in the same place to give Siena Heights a 2-0 cushion.  Siena Heights pressed the Golden Eagles for most of the half and Cornerstone couldn't generate any attack.

Cornerstone possessed the ball much better in the second half but the Saints were still the more dangerous team.  Siena Heights got their third goal just six minutes into the second half and the game would end with a 3-0 win for the Saints.

Cornerstone finishes the season with a 10-5-4 record.
