ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The women's basketball team used a strong post presence on Saturday afternoon as the finished the day with 36 points in the paint to walk away with a 72-55 win at Concordia. Jill Hendrickson (JR/Ada, Mich.) finished with 28 points and she matched Ashley Niedermayer (SR/Lincolnshire, Ill) with 12 rebounds as CU improves to 6-5 on the season and 4-3 in the WHAC. Cornerstone will travel to Spring Arbor on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. tip against the Cougars.

Game Flow
Cornerstone never trailed throughout the forty minutes but it was the three-point shot from the host Cardinals that kept them in the game as they used six triples in the opening half to trail only by 12 (38-26). The closest CUAA got was at 27-26 but the Golden Eagles used an 11-0 run to close it out.

The lead slowly grew in the second half but again the Cardinals would not go away and used some timely shooting to stay within striking distance as they trailed by only 10 with just over eight minutes to play. Hendrickson and Niedermayer along with some balanced scoring enabled the Golden Eagles to cruise to the 17-point win.

Say What?
"We really wanted this win to lead us into break because we have lost a few conference games and we didn't really feel like our conference record reflected how good of a team we are. It was a good team win and should give us some more confidence going into the second half of the season" – Senior Ashley Niedermayer
