GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the first half and they kept the Pilots at a comfortable distance for most of the night as they went on to defeat Bethel 70-52 for their third straight win. Cornerstone will have 10 days off over Christmas and will return to action on Dec. 29 when they face Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Cornerstone built the lead to as much as 19 in the first half of play before settling for a 14 point (40-26) lead at the half. The Golden Eagles shot 48.3% from the field and a perfect 11 for 11 from the charity stripe. Ashley Niedermayer made 6 of 8 from the floor and 6 of 6 from the foul line for 18 points to go with 9 rebounds in the first half of play.
The Golden Eagles rebuilt the lead back to 19 points (52-33) with 11:36 left in the game. The Pilots cut the lead to 13 (63-50) with 2:14 remaining but that would be as close as they would get on the night as Cornerstone rolled to a 70-54 win over Bethel.
