Cornerstone plays well in win over Grace Bible College

The Golden Eagles hosted Grace Bible tonight in a non-conference game and they played very well in a 7-0 win.  Junior Josie Litty opened the scoring in the 10th minute of play on an assist from Kerri Hoffman.  Litty hit a shot from just outside the box into the upper left side of the goal.  Kerri Hoffman scored the second goal unassisted on a deflected shot the wrong footed the GK to make it 2-0 in the 23rd minute.  Lexanna Siemasz made it 3-0 just a couple minutes later on a rebound the she hit to the lower right corner of the goal.  Cornerstone had 29 shots in the first half of play.  Josie Litty opened the second half with a goal in just 4 minutes.  Litty hit a ball from the right side of the goal that the Tiger GK couldn't get to completely and she pushed the ball into the goal.  The freshman took over at this point.  Kelsey Gensler scored her second goal of the season on a cross from Ashton Gossett to make it 5-0 at 58:13.  Gossett dished out another assist to Mykayla Denison in the 78th minute and then scored one of her own by pouncing on a rebound and putting it in the net in the 83rd minute.  The Golden Eagles played most of the non-starters for most of the second half and they played very well.  Cornerstone improves to 3-0-2 on the season.  Cornerstone will return to action on Tuesday night when they host Goshen College at 7:00 p.m.
