GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Junior Jill Hendrickson became the 22nd player in Cornerstone Women's Basketball history to reach the 1,000 point plateau today as she helped the Golden Eagles take down visiting Marygrove 58-46. The milestone came early in the second half as she helped CU improve to 12-6 on the year and 7-3 in conference play. Cornerstone will head down the Beltline on Wednesday to face cross-town rival Aquinas at 6 p.m.

Game Flow
In a low-scoring first half, the Golden Eagles limited the Mustangs to a dismal 10% shooting from the floor while only allowing the visitors to score four points in the first 12 minutes. After leading 12-4, CU then allowed Marygrove to get within three at 14-11 but the Golden Eagles closed the half on a 14-3 run to double-up the Mustangs.

The second half started with the Mustangs connecting on more field goals in the opening two minutes than they had the entire opening 20 but the lead was never seriously threatened for the remainder of the game. Junior Jill Hendrickson got her 1,000th career point on an offensive put back with 15:10 to play in the game and she ended up with a team high 15 points and 14 rebounds in the 12-point CU win.
