GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Cornerstone defense held strong for 86 minutes but No. 2 Northwestern Ohio put away a loose ball in the box after a corner kick to give them the 1-0 win. The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 8-6 on the year and 2-4 in league play. CU will head to Concordia on Wednesday to resume WHAC play.

Looking for their first win over a Top-10 NAIA program and an upset of their highest ranked opponent in school history, Cornerstone played a strong defensive match on Saturday evening but it a late goal that doomed the Golden Eagles once again.
Cornerstone opened the day with a great opportunity in the first 30 seconds when Kerri Hoffman (SR/Hamilton, Mich.) just missed on a header but that would turn out to their lone shot of the match. UNOH then controlled most of the play and at the 86:32 mark, put away a loose ball it the box for the game winner.
