GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Tori Johns (SO/Clarkston, Mich.) and Morgan Haddad (SO/Troy, Ohio) each scored their first goals of the season while Alexys Riksen (FR/Grand Haven, Mich.) put up her sixth and Lexie Brisson-Fast (SR/Ferndale, Mich.) a pair of tallies to lead the Golden Eagles to a 5-0 win over visiting Lawrence Tech. The win lifts CU to 10-6-0 on the season and 4-4-0 in the WHAC. Cornerstone will head to Detroit on Wednesday to face Marygrove.
Game Flow…
Cornerstone came out with an offensive mindset against Lawrence Tech and it showed with three first half goals. The Golden Eagles got the first when Tori Johns hit a ball from about 25 yards out and it got through the wall of Blue Devil defenders. It marked her first tally of the season and after a bullet goal from Alexys Riksen in the 28', Cornerstone went up 3-0 on another first goal of the season by Morgan Haddad.
Lexie Brisson-Fast then put up two goals in the second half to finish the scoring for Cornerstone as they won their second straight contest.
