FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The second straight trip to the state of Indiana was not as kind as the first for the women's basketball team as they fell to Saint Francis by the final of 68-56. The loss drops Cornerstone to 7-6 on the year as they will wrap up non-conference play next Tuesday at the DU Holiday Classic against Roosevelt University at 5:30 p.m.

Game Flow
It was a back and forth affair over the first 6-8 minutes but the host Cougars closed out the first quarter on a run and continued it into the second which eventually led to a 31-18 lead at halftime. CU struggled from the field in the first 20 minutes as they shot just 26.7%.

That lead stayed around double-figures for the first half of the third quarter but a big finish by CU and a last second layup by Jesse Sheridan (FR/Argyle, Texas) brought them to within seven (45-38) after three quarters. CU tried to come back and had the margin down to six at 57-51 but the Cougars were too tough down the stretch and posted the 12-point win.

By the Numbers
16 – Team high points for freshman Jesse Sheridan
25 – Combined points for Jill Steenwyk (SR/Sparta, Mich.) (15) and Tanner Hostetler (SR/Archbold, Ohio) (10)
.339 – Shooting percentage for the Golden Eagles
19 – Turnovers for CU – 8 more than the host Cougars

Up Next
Cornerstone will have a week off between games as they will resume action on December 29 against Roosevelt University at the Davenport Holiday Classic. Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. inside the DU Student Center.
