GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In their final non-conference game of the 2015-16 season, the women's basketball team fell behind early and was unable to make a comeback as they fell 72-61 to Roosevelt University (Ill.). The Golden Eagles' second straight loss drops them to 7-7 on the year as they will return to WHAC play on Saturday at Marygrove College. Tip is set for 1 p.m. inside the Northwest Activities Center.

Game Flow
The Lakers jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead on their second possession and they never looked back in the opening quarter eventually leading by seven (18-11) after 10 minutes of play. That lead grew to 11 at the close of the half as RU hit a triple as time expired.

Coming out in the third quarter, CU downed the lead to just five (35-30) as freshman Jesse Sheridan (FR/Argyle, Texas) scored eight straight points but that would be as close as the Golden Eagles would get as the Lakers would score the final nine points to take a 19-point lead into the final 10 minutes. The closest CU got from there was the final margin of 11 as Tanner Hostetler (SR/Archbold, Ohio) and Emma Lockhart (JR/Reed City, Mich.) each hit jumpers in the final minute.

By the Numbers
17 – Team high points for freshman Jesse Sheridan
15 – Points from senior Tanner Hostetler – her second straight game in double-figures
6 – Team high rebounds for Jesse Sheridan
15-14 – CU won the turnover battle by one
42-33 – The Golden Eagles were out-rebounded by nine
