GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The 2014-15 campaign has come to a close for the Cornerstone women's basketball team as they fell to undefeated and No. 2 ranked Davenport 76-57 n Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles complete the season with an overall record of 22-10 and saw the final action for seniors Jill Hendrickson (JR/Ada, Mich.) and Ashley Niedermayer (SR/Lincolnshire, Ill).

Game Flow
The previous two meetings against their cross-town rivals saw the Panthers take big first half leads and Saturday started out no differently as the Panthers used a 9-0 run to take a 23-11 lead. Cornerstone battled back after not scoring for almost four minutes to get within eight (35-27) at the break. Tanner Hostetler (JR/Archbold, Ohio) hit a pair of free throws with under 10 seconds to play to keep CU close.

The second half opened with the teams trading buckets for most of the first six minutes but then DU used a 10-1 run to open a 17-point (52-35) lead with just over 11 minutes to play. The three-pointer kept CU within striking distance as they got long balls from Hostetler and Emma Lockhart (SO/Reed City, Mich.) to stay within 12. The depth for the Panthers however was too much as they increased the margin into the 20's before the final of 76-57.
