HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Playing their second straight match against a Crossroads League foe, Cornerstone got a pair of goals from senior Teigan Mitcham (SR/Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Josie Litty (SR/Hudsonville, Mich.) to down the Huntington Foresters 2-1. The victory lifts the Golden Eagles to 3-2-0 on the season as they will resume play on Tuesday when they host Grace Bible College.

Game Flow…
After scoring six goals in a 6-2 win over St. Francis (Ind.) on Wednesday, the offense picked up right where it left off when Teigan Mitcham converted the first goal of the match on a corner kick from Bria West (JR/Holland, Mich.). That score was doubled just over 10 minutes later when Josie Litty stole a ball and dribbled through the HU defense and beat the keeper 1 on 1 to make it 2-0.

Huntington did get one back in the second half but that would be the only tally for the home team on Saturday as Cornerstone posted the 1-goal win.

Quotable…
"We got off to a great start with a couple of early goals and played very well in the first half.  The second half proved to be much more difficult for us and we made it much more of a game because we couldn't keep the ball.  We will need to continue to work on possessing the ball." – Head coach Randy Strawser
