Taryn Sack has career night in WBB victory

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Taryn Sack entered the game on Wednesday having never scored in double-figures but the sophomore had 15 points alone in the second half in route to her career high 19 to lead Cornerstone to a 66-53 win over Concordia. The victory lifts the Golden Eagles to 10-8 on the season and 8-3 in league play as CU will start the second half of WHAC action on Saturday at Madonna at 1 p.m.

Game Flow
Cornerstone was held off the scoreboard for the first 3:30 of the game and had only eight points at the end of the first quarter as they trailed Concordia 12-8 but the offense started to click early in the second and the Golden Eagles went into halftime leading 25-19.

The momentum from the second carried into the third as CU outscored Concordia 20-11 in the third quarter and upped the lead to as many as 19 midway through the second half. Concordia did get the margin down to just 10 at 60-50 but Taryn Sack and Jesse Sheridan combined for 25 points alone in the second half to preserve the win.
