Heather Marks and the women's golf team ended their fall campaign today with their best 18-hole score as they placed ninth at the "Battle in Belmont" hosted by Davenport University. CU posted a 396 team score led by junior
Claire Niergarth with a final round tally of 93. CU will resume play in the spring with regional tournaments and the post-season WHAC Championships.
Claire Niergarth finished her best fall season as a collegiate golfer with a solid two days at the Battle in Belmont, hosted at Blythefield CC and Boulder Creek GC. The junior shot a 96 on Monday and followed with a 93 today to finish 38th overall.
Jesse Sheridan was just behind Niergarth in 42nd with a 101-98 36-hole score. The sophomore was followed by
Monica Anderson (113-105) and
Taylor Dean (103-117).
Fellow WHAC school Madonna won the overall team title with a 2-day total of 622 and they were followed by UNOH (643) and Wayne State (647).
CU will be off until the spring when they will resume play at regional tournaments and the WHAC Championships, hosted by the conference.
