GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – With a 2-0 loss to Aquinas and an Indiana Tech 1-0 upset over Madonna, the conference tournament picture is left uncertain for Cornerstone as the regular season comes to an end. CU closed out the regular season at .500 with a 8-8-1, 3-7-0 record, as they will wait for the result of the Indiana Tech vs. Davenport match on Saturday to see if their season will continue in the conference tournament.
Game Flow…
In a cold rainy afternoon match the Golden Eagles could not get anything going offensively recording just two shots in the half. Aquinas was able to find the net early in the match scoring in the 15' when Melissa Brittain scored for the third time this season. Cornerstone then allowed a second goal to the Saints later in the first half when Morgan Halligan found the net to make it 2-0 at the break.
CU was unable to record a shot in the second half, and Aquinas only found four shots resulting in a final score of 2-0 in favor of the Saints.
News and Notes…
- The Golden Eagles were unable to earn a win on the road this season going 0-6.
- This is the first loss to Aquinas for the Golden Eagles since the beginning 2014 season.
- Cornerstone concluded WHAC play with a 3-7-0 record.

The Golden Eagles will play a waiting game this weekend to see if their season will continue by earning the final conference tournament bid. WHAC Tournament play will begin on November 2 with quarterfinal play.
