History vs. the Wildcats
Indiana Wesleyan is a consistent top 25 team in the country, which has proven to cause trouble for Cornerstone holding just a 3-10 record vs. IWU since the year 2000. Of those three career wins against IWU, only one has come on the Wildcats home floor. CU will look to make that two as they will take on no. 9 Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Indiana on Tuesday.

Scouting IWU
Cornerstone looks to hand No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan their second upset loss of the year as IWU has already fallen in their season opener 73-61 to receiving votes IU-East. IWU only returns two of their five starters from last year, but they do return their key piece in the leading scorer Kelsey Key who averaged 11.5 PPG last year. The Wildcats look to build around their leading scorer with seven freshman additions.

History vs. the Saints
CU has struggled to defeat WHAC foe SHU of late going just 2-10 in their last 12 outings. Coach Mattera has posted just a 2-6 record entering her fifth year as the Cornerstone head coach, which is her second worst record against conference opponents behind a 1-8 record vs. Davenport.

Scouting SHU
12 year veteran head coach Sue Syljebeck and the Siena Heights Saints look to rebound from a bit of an unexpected down year in 2015-16 where they finished sixth in the WHAC and outside the NAIA top 25 for the first time since the 2011-12 season. The young Saints, who have just three seniors, look to build off of a defense focus last year as SHU ranked best in the nation in field goal percentage defense holding opponents to just 33.1% from the floor.

Balanced Attack
Cornerstone has opened the season with a very balanced attack offensively, as four of the starters are averaging 8.3 PPG or more. CU has also had excellent production off the bench specifically from Taylor Richards who is averaging 6.3 PPG and 3.0 RPG. The Golden Eagle offense has also been excellent crashing the offensive boards recording 27 offensive rebounds in back-to-back games.

WHAC Opener's
The WHAC opener is already upon us in just the second week of the season as CU will host Siena Heights on Saturday to begin conference play. Cornerstone holds just a 2-2 record in conference openers under coach Mattera, but they are 4-0 in WHAC home openers most recently defeating these Siena Heights Saints 71-60 last year.

Sheridan Surpasses 500
Guard Jesse Sheridan came into her sophomore season with a Cornerstone freshman record 475 points, averaging a team high 15.8 PPG in 2015-16.  Sheridan took just three games this season to pass the 500 career points mark, earning the honor with a bucket in the Tip Off Classic vs. Robert Morris this past Saturday. Sheridan is averaging a team high 11.3 PPG through the first three games of this season.

Strength of Schedule
Head Coach Katie Mattera and the Golden Eagles have not shied away from a tough non-conference schedule, as CU will play their second NAIA top 15 team of the season this week. Cornerstone also has yet to face no. 5 Saint Francis (Ill.) in December for a non-conference match before entering a tough conference schedule that will see no. 8 Davenport, no. 23 Madonna, and a pair of receiving votes teams in Indiana Tech and Lawrence Tech twice each.
