ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A sizzling start and even hotter night from the field helped the women's basketball team end a 2-game losing skid with am 80-62 win over Concordia on Wednesday night. The victory lifts the Golden Eagles to 15-11 on the season and 13-6 in the WHAC. CU will come home Saturday to host Marygrove on alumni day at 1 p.m.
Game Flow
A huge first quarter was really all Cornerstone needed on Wednesday night as they jumped all over the Cardinals of Concordia to lead 29-7 after 10 minutes. That margin continued to grow into the second quarter as the Golden Eagles extended their lead to 24 at the half (44-20).
Concordia did put together some solid offense in the third quarter but CU responded with some outstanding play of Emma Lockhart (JR/Reed City, Mich.) and Ellery Mast (SO/Zeeland, Mich.) to help the Golden Eagles close out the quarter up 26 and they cruised to the 18-point win.
