Women’s Basketball cruises to win over Marygrove

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – On a day in which the alums were celebrated, the 2015-16 version of the women's basketball program at Cornerstone impressed with an 87-48 victory over visiting Marygrove. The win lifts Cornerstone to 16-11 overall while they are now 14-6 in the WHAC. CU will host #RV Indiana Tech next Wednesday for senior night.



Game Flow
Jesse Sheridan (FR/Argyle, Texas) has led the Golden Eagles in scoring all season and she came out firing in the opening quarter as the freshman posted 15 points to help CU build a 25-10 lead after 10 minutes. That lead continued to grow into the second as numerous players got involved in the scoring leading to a 17-point margin at halftime.

The Golden Eagles then buckled down on defense in the third quarter as they outscored the Mustangs 20-6 in the third and 21-13 in the fourth. All 13 players recorded points for Cornerstone in the win.

18/9 – Freshman Taylor Richards (FR/Fruitport, Mich.) recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds off the bench for CU
12 – Junior Alyssa Van Ham (JR/Jenison, Mich.) recorded a season high 12 points
69 – Rebounds for the Golden Eagles – compared to just 32 for Marygrove
23 – Assists for CU including 5 from Breona Wilson (SO/Eastpointe, Mich)

Cornerstone will celebrate senior day on Wednesday, February 17 when they welcome Indiana Tech to Mol Arena. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
